Kedarkantha Trek Weather: Spring Season (March to April)
As spring comes, Kedarkantha slowly takes away winter; the day’s temperatures range from 10°C to 18°C out in the sun, while night temperatures dip to 0°C to 5°C giving a cool climate. Trekkers able to enjoy both snow and new budding greenery in spring, where snow remains on higher mountain peaks, surrounded by upcoming flowers near the valley. The sky is usually clear or a little cloudy, with light rain sometimes in late April. In March snow remains on higher points of mountains or camping grounds only.
Trials can be soggy during daytime when snow melts. Trails become dry and firm which is ideal for comfortable trekking. The skies are clear, giving a perfect view of Swargarohini, Black Peak, Bandarpoonch. The sunlight peeping through the oak and pine trees, while the forest converts itself from snowy to fresh green plants. Toward the end of march, forests are filled with colorful flowers like rhododendron, Primulas, filled everything with lives.
The famous Juda ka talab melted by April, reflecting surrounding peaks. In early March some snowy patches may still require microspikes for grip. For experiencing a decent hike in March April, start early because the afternoon slush can make trails slippery. The temperature drops at night, so bring warm clothes even if the days are mild.
Kedarkantha Trek Weather: Summer (May to June)
During summer time the daytime temperature is warm, and comfortable for trekking which is around 15°C to 20°C, and the night becomes somewhat cooler around 6°C to 10°C. As the May is beginning of summer in Kedarkantha, the weather is mild and pleasant with sunny days and cold nights. Rain occurs in late june as the monsoon season starts.
By this time, the snow is mostly gone, so it's easier to hike and see green areas. The melting snow makes a small waterfall on the path.
