First day on trek
Trek guide took us to Bhagsu by walk which is 1 km far away Macleodganj where I met with my trek group near German Bakery.
Bhagsunaag is the starting point of Triung Trek. Bhagsunaag is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and have famous waterfall. Trekkers have to cross that waterfall and to go to trek.
Trek Guide gave us a briefing session. One of the trek member asked him about Best season to trek Triund Top and he replied that March to June and September to November. I asked “when can we see the snow in Triund Trek?” and he replied “the best time to see snow in Triund is during the months of January and February. The trek to Triund during winters can however get challenging. When the well-defined path gets laden by snow, and ice, care and vigilance are required. A pair of good boots, with a low flex and stiff sole, is definitely recommended. If you’re planning to visit during winters or wish to walk over the snowy terrain, it’s highly recommended to plan your trip under the supervision of seasoned trekkers. You should also gather information about Triund weather in advance.”
And to avoid delay, the whole group started the trek at 10: 30 am by crossing Bhagsu Temple and Waterfall. Water fall is approximately 1 km far away from the temple.
We crossed the waterfall in 30 minutes. There are stairs so it was easy to reach at waterfall and near some Maggie points and local sacks. We stopped there for 10 minutes to take some pictures.
we started again trek after 10 minutes. Our trek Guide informed that Triund is the crown jewel of Dharamshala, situated in the laps of Dhauladhar mountains, it has the perfect view of the Dhauladhar mountains on one side and Kangra valley on the other. Triund is a very popular trekking spot. Triund attracts a lot of tourist every year from India and all over the world.
I asked him the meaning of Triund and he replied Triund trek can be described as a tranquil trek which can be easily accomplished by almost all age groups.
I saw that exactly children at the age of 6 to 12 and people at the age of 55 to 70 years were also trekking with a very good spirit.
We stopped few Maggie points where enjoyed Maggie as a lunch and reached at the camp sight at 4:00 pm. After reach the camp sight, I had self satisfaction by watching the mesmerizing view of one side Dholadhar Range and other side Kangra Valley. It’s a beautiful mixed forest of oak, deodar and rhododendron. Trek is fairly easy for the first five Km. and then have quite steep trek. Although it’s a easy level trek. There were three camping spots available and Camping at top was available.
After taking half hour rest in the camp, our trek guide offered us evening tea. Later, we clicked pictures with solo and group and saw sunset. It was too beautiful, calm and felt like heal the inner soul. Did some activities and at 6: 30 pm when sun was completely set we started to play Antakshari. It was the fun. Some other group people joined us and had south Indian and north Indian songs competition. It was happened till 2.5 hours. At 9 pm, we had dinner and our trek guide arranged a fire camping for us. I played my phone playlist in speakers. Beautiful romantic songs, fire and friends combination was too good. Then some people started Shayaris;- it was sad and romantic shayari, some copied lines and original were too.
Then again Antakshari was started. Music, competition and cold waves thrilled us. Finally at 11:30 pm came back to tent to sleep.
